Addictions and Compulsions

Addictive or compulsive behaviours often begin as coping mechanisms for stress, shame, loneliness, trauma, or overwhelming emotions. Over time, they can become difficult to manage on their own.

I specialise in addiction work and see both individuals and partners.

This includes support for:

  • Gambling
  • Sex & porn addiction
  • Compulsive spending
  • Compulsive eating/bingeing
  • Phone/internet compulsivity
  • Relationship-based compulsive patterns

Therapy can help you understand what drives these behaviours, reduce shame, stabilise patterns, and move towards healthier long-term change.


 

MENTAL HEALTH

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, low, anxious, stuck, or unsure how to cope with emotional pressure. Mental health challenges are incredibly common and can affect every part of life.

This includes support for:

  • ADHD (diagnosed or undiagnosed)
  • Stress & burnout
  • Emotional regulation
  • Self-esteem & confidence
  • Overwhelm

Trauma and Loss

Trauma and loss, whether sudden, long-term, or rooted in childhood, can deeply affect how you feel, think, and relate to others. You may experience numbness, overwhelm, hypervigilance, confusion, or emotional disconnection.

This includes support for:

  • Relationship or attachment trauma
  • Bereavement
  • Loss of identity or direction
  • Sudden changes (health, work, relationships)
  • Emotional shutdown or overwhelm
